St. Bernard Church offers Religious Education classes to all children of the parish. It is the moral obligation cited in the Baptismal pledge of every parent and of our Christian faith community to ensure that our children are given the opportunity to grow in their awareness of Christ's love for them and to become more familiar with our rich Catholic Faith and all its traditions.
Our Religious Education program is active in the life of our parish and community. R.E. students coordinate food drives for the neighborhood food pantry, serve as Altar Servers, Ushers, and Lectors for the Parish, and participate in Masses and special liturgical events.
RE Classes for 2017-2018 will again be held in St. Bernard School each Sunday during the school year from 9:30-10:30 a.m. beginning September 10, 2017, except for the weekends of Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Palm Sunday and Easter. Students and their parents may come to Zahn Hall for the beginning of the first class of the year.
Registration forms will be mailed to parents early August, or forms will be available in the Church vestibules on the weekends of August 26-27, and September 2-3. You may also call the Rectory to register 260-563-4750.

The Sacramental years; Second Grade for First Communion and Eighth Grade for Confirmation are significant milestones in your child's spiritual life. You may read about St. Bernard's Confirmation Program, and you may read the Confirmation Contract to become better acquainted with expectations. Preparing for the Sacramental years, the Director of Religious Education and the instructors work hard to ensure the proper religious instruction for your child.
